Hiking, Dedicating, and Growing

Once again, it has been longer than I would have liked since I last updated our blog. Plenty of growing has taken place since then, as you will see in the pictures! As I only have another 15 minutes until the next feeding, I will focus on getting some pictures uploaded so you can see for yourself what we have been up to the last couple of weeks, and what Kaiya is looking like these days. Last weekend was my birthday, which we celebrated by going out to our favourite steakhouse for dinner with friends, and then back to Chris and Abi's for hang out time and Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. Then the next day was Hyatt's first father's day (well, the first one that he was a father for), and went for a fun picnic with friends after church. This weekend was eventful as well, as Hyatt and I (and Kaiya, of course) ventured to Oriase Gorge for a bit of a hike, which was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. We had driven that way back in January when we went to Lake Towada, but it was incredible to see the area in the summer time with all of the green, and the waterfalls flowing! Yesterday was an important day as well, as we had Kaiya's baby dedication at church. Our pastor recently had to go back to the States for health reasons, so we had one of the chaplains from base come and dedicate the babies at our church (there were two other babies born in the last couple of months that were dedicated along with Kaiya). So, enjoy the pictures!

She's Already Growing!

I only have another hour left in my window for a nap before Kaiya wakes up for her next meal, so this will have to be short:) Today is Hyatt's first day back at work since Kaiya was born, and so far it has gone alright, although I think that he somehow missed out on one of the poopiest diapers I have seen yet (how convenient, eh?). Actually, I can't complain, because I have changed very few of her diapers - and didn't even change one of the "black tar" ones, as Hyatt has been the diaper changing champion!

It boggles my mind how quickly Kaiya is changing already - I'm guessing that she must be at least 7 lbs by now (we will find out her exact weight at her doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon). Her face just seems much more round, and the rest of her much "softer" :) Saturday was a sunny day here, so we took Kaiya on her very first walk. She seemed to enjoy it, although she slept through most of it (as she sleeps through most everything these days).
